My lovely young Schumacher rep, Cecily, was by Kathryn Greeley Designs a few weeks ago. She paid a visit to share Schumacher’s new collaboration with Martyn Lawrence Bullard. How exciting and inspiring is this collection!?!

As Cecily was showing this lovely collection, my design mind was racing–putting a scheme together. Tree-of-life designs have always been a favorite during the entire 30+ years of my design career.
Oh and how fresh and beautiful is Sinhala Linen Print in Sky (above)? The clear white background and the soft blues and greens made it difficult for me to properly pay attention to Cecily and the remainder of this collection! Before she left, I ordered several memo samples simply to put in my private office on my “inspiration board.”
As my imagination started work, I came up with this little scheme…
Of course, the Sinhala Linen Print in Sky was my starting point-perhaps for some tall windows overlooking the beach or a mountain lake (or a beautiful apartment in London!).

Combine this with the yummy velvet stripe, Romanesque in Sky (above). Perhaps this is a little sitting room with two comfy club chairs upholstered in the stripe that has such a lovely “hand.”
Add to these two club chairs a nice pouf ottoman in Sikar Embroidery in Sky (shown below).
Finally, as you sit in those club chairs cover yourself with a throw made from Pasha Paisley in Sky and snuggle down with a great book and a little tea or a nice breakfast tray. Wouldn’t that be divine?
Shortly after seeing this exquisite collection, I was at Quintessentials, my favorite tabletop shop in Raleigh, NC. With the Schumacher patterns still in my mind, I thought I must add some tableware to this scheme I have devised. Here’s what I came up with for either a breakfast tray in a little sitting room or a small antique table in a breakfast nook.
Charger; Pickard, Glacier Blue and Gold / Dinner Plate,; Royal Crown Derby, Carlton Gold / Dessert Plate; Royal Crowne Derby, Riverside Park
Wouldn’t this be a dreamy room for reading, sipping or eating?!?
I hope you’ve enjoyed my musings as much as I did!
Have a lovely week,
Kathryn

Gorgeous fabric! Love the paisley fabric and the pacesetting is beautiful.
