“Designer Notebook”: Table Sizes and Seating

My design clients are often curious about appropriate table sizes in regards to seating capacity. I thought that these charts might be a helpful tool, as well as inspiring!

 The Seating Capacities Diagrams below are based on chairs that are 20” wide. The allowance between the chairs should be a minimum of 2” (tight) and 6” (roomy). Seating arrangements labeled ‘tight’ are for occasional use.
