Sadly, this is the second Mother’s Day that I have been without my precious Mother. But today, I celebrate her and all that she taught me and gave to me.
My Mother was the most optimistic and faithful woman I have ever known. In her later years, she had two major health challenges…muscular dystrophy and macular degeneration. She never gave up, she never complained, she never lost hope. Many of my friends (and clients) are currently caring for their elderly parents and it is a very stressful, tiring, and sad time in one’s life. We must just all focus on celebrating each and every moment we have with our Mothers.
I gave Mother’s eulogy at her funeral and gave out little card with what I called “Margaret’s Little Lessons”. I have had numerous people tell me that they carry these cards with them and when they get down… out comes “Margaret’s Little Lessons”. These are just things that I heard from my precious Mother very often and I thought you might enjoy them as my Mother’s Day “thoughts for the day”.
Today, be thankful for your mother and honor her in every way. We are each blessed to have had our mothers or still have them.
Perhaps …breakfast in bed on her special day!
