It is hard to believe that summer is gone and fall is upon us! I do love the coziness of fall, all of the colors and textures and wonderful smells! So I can’t say that I am sad that fall is here. One of the lovely things about living in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina is the four distinct seasons. And one of the “specialties of the house” and a fall favorite at Chestnut Cottage is Broccoli Cornbread!

It never fails to please guests or family at Chestnut Cottage and is great for tailgate parties or just to take when one needs to “bring a dish”! I thought you might enjoy the recipe if you don’t have a copy of The Collected Tabletop (it is in the chapter called Fall for Football).
This recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law, Miriam Wells Greeley and I have loved the recipe since the moment she shared it with me. So I thought I would share it with you! I love cooking it in my divided cast iron pan, as it gets nice and brown and crispie!
