An Event to Remember – My Trip to B.D. Jeffries

Hello dear readers!

My how time flies! It was just a few short weeks ago when I told you I would be having a book signing at the to-die-for B.D. Jeffries store in Charlotte. I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without giving you a full account of this most-wonderful trip.

Before I tell you about all the pretties I found, I must say how delightful the store manager, Kathy Elkins (above), and her staff were. They made me feel so very welcome and how much fun did we have with their customers!?! They even made a few goodies from my book for the patrons to snack on while they shopped!

Now, I must tell you about two favorites I found that are a must-own for those of us who love to entertain…

First of all, Perin-Mowen is an excellent source for wonderful hand-rolled, pure beeswax candles. Made in the USA (Yeah!) , these lovely candles come in two colors, Natural Light and Natural Dark. And the great variety of shapes and sizes will be perfect for any entertaining event. However, in the event that you are unable to find something “just right”, then Perin-Mowen will do custom orders!  The square pillars are very unique for more transitional or contemporary tablesettings and the beehives are so fun!

Secondly, I love Alexa Pulitzer of New Orleans exquisite line of engraved cards, menus and placecards.  Her “thinking cards”  are just perfect for one who seems compelled to write down most of her thoughts and creative ideas! I can think of many events for the beautiful place cards, such as the Hunting Crest, The Cork Screws, and The Place Setting.  As I said, something for almost any event!

B.D. Jeffries has a fabulous selection of all of these things I mentioned. As a bonus, I also wanted to share this colorful glassware I found. I love the hobnail pattern on the chair — so charming!

Finally, while I love meeting new people on my travels, it’s always a treat to see some familiar faces as well! Two of my good friends, Richard Stutts and Bill Keith, dropped by for a quick chat.

I also got to meet one of my Facebook friends, Sharon Coppede (right), and her friend Kathy Hynoski who were so kind to come to the signing. It was a joy to meet them both!!

Stay tuned…I’ll be announcing more signing dates soon!
Have a lovely day!
