With summer finally just around the corner, it is easy  to think of the joyful memories of screen doors.  My grandmother’s house , with its screen back door brings back so many lovely summer visions.  Recently, I did a lake house and my client loved the idea of having a screen door for her kitchen pantry.  It is a fun design detail, especially for a second home.  My client is extremely “tiddy”, so this detail worked fine for her (yes, I am talking about you Susie!).

We looked for an old screen door, but ultimately had to use a new one to get the correct size!

I found this image from an old Country Living issue and thought it was another great design detail.

I like the pop of color that the doors bring into the kitchens. I wonder if you could retrofit some punch tin panels on a door to go for a similar Primitive chic look while keeping the Oreos out of the sight of the little ones. I love the tin patterns on the old pie safes.

Yes, that’s a great idea Luke!
