To end our little “Shades of Green” entertaining, I will leave you with our menu from last Saturday evening… just in case you might want to do some entertaining this weekend! I looked at my fruit and vegetable bowl on the kitchen counter last Saturday morning, and found it overflowing with heirloom tomatoes and ripe, juicy peaches! So, my menu for the party started at that bowl…
I will leave you with my favorite Tomato Basil Pie recipe, that I continue to “tweak” each year.
As I say often…I am not a professional photographer…but this tomato pie was definitely yummy!
And my basil at Chestnut Cottage is still going strong.
What a treat to combine the basil with all of this year’s lovely heirloom tomatoes. I need to get busy and make pesto!
