I have long been a fan of using over-scaled botanical prints or paintings  in my design work.  When I visited the 2009 Kips Bay Showhouse in New York, I fell in love with a pair of over-scaled prints in Bunny Williams’ room.

In a large space, this scale can be stunning and bring  warmth to a large room.

I recently completed the design work on an old building that my husband and I purchased and renovated for an “events” center.  The spaces are large and needed something to bring the scale down in  a cozy lobby area.  I selected two wonderful over-scaled botanical prints from one of my favorite art vendors, W. King Ambler.

Last week in my Collected Library post, you could see that Nina Campbell also uses these larger scale botanicals in her design work.

I have enjoyed your blog for several years now. I love your table decor and recipes. You have a beautiful home for entertaining and I am sure that you are a gracious hostess. Would you be able to write about how you entertain? How are you able to set such a wonderful table with fresh flowers, cook such delicious food, dress beautifully and great your guests with a big smile? How do you organize entertaining? There isn’t much information online about this issue. I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs help.
    Thanks,
    Wanda

    Wanda,
That is a great idea for a post. I will try to put a few tips together for a post of that nature!
    Thanks for the idea!
