To Coupe or To Flute… That is the Question!

As you know by now, champagne is definitely my “drink of choice”! And for many years, I have been collecting both coupes and flutes for my “champagne habit”! I do love the glamour of both the flute and the coupe…so what’s a girl to do?

It is hard not to feel like Grace or Audrey when sipping champagne out of a coupe or a flute! Both fall in and out of favor and it seems that wine “authorities”  recommend a flute over a coupe, for bubble retention. The coupes definitely have a vintage feel and recently I ask “Santa Baby” to bring me a few of Simon Pearce’s new “Hartland” coupes. They are a very simple design and mix wonderfully with some of my ornate and antique flutes and coupes.

I love so many products from Simon Pearce and really love that they are all AMERICAN MADE!

And there are so many interesting champagne cocktails to serve in your coupes or your flutes. One of my favorite holiday champagne cocktails is champagne, with a splash of St. Germain and a splash of cranberry juice for a bit of festive holiday color. Then garnish with a twist of lemon and a couple of frozen cranberries.
