In The Garden With Kathryn!

While all of the “refreshing efforts” were going on at Chestnut Cottage this spring, the garden burst forth in its spring glory. I came up every day to see what had popped up…

Wonderful French tulips…

And so many varieties of daffodils…

A gardener’s delight, with all of these spring flowers to arrange!

And all of the window boxes and planters had to be done before I left for France!

One of my favorite early blooms are the lovely and delicate mountain laurel!

And a new faux bois bench from Currey and Company arrived this spring for the Chestnut Cottage garden.

And me sweet little apples have presented themselves!

And New Dawn roses everywhere!

I so love when the moss starts to green up!

And I think the English roses were at their best this spring!

So take a stroll with me around the garden and enjoy!

Wow, all of this spring garden work and strolling is tiring! I believe I will go out of the porch and have a nice little gin and tonic…made with my favorites…Bombay Sapphire gin, Fever Tree tonic, lime, and of course cucumber!

Stay tuned for lots of fun “On the Road in France” posts!

This has been a great year for gardening with the mild temperatures that we’ve had this spring. Your roses are gorgeous! Mine have gotten a little too much rain this year. That’s alright though. All the rain in my garden has been great for the hydrangeas.

Nature is difficult to deal with, isn’t it! We have had very little rain and thankfully we do have irrigation!

It’s a paradise!! We have been deluged…9 inches, 5 inches, etc…however, the lawn is an emerald green!! franki

Love the garden photos. Do you have someone who takes care of watering for you?

  5. Kathryn Greeley says:

I do have a young girl that comes a couple of times a week and helps me with the watering for the window boxes and we have an irrigation system for the garden.

Every year, our weather gets more and more strange! Glad you have been getting some rain, we have been terribly dry, but thankfully we do have an irrigation system!
