I apologize for my absence at The Collected Room! Several of my wonderful readers have contacted me to see if I am still alive and everything is alright. Indeed I am alive and things are getting smoothed out after an extremely hectic fall. My knee surgery has proven to be a bit more involved than I expected and has not healed as soon as I had hoped. But I am on the mend and wanted to share some of the Thanksgiving activities at Chestnut Cottage, as well as a countdown to Christmas.

A few memories from Thanksgiving 2016…

And then it was…

Seven live tree arrived the Sunday following Thanksgiving and they were all so lovely and the scent of the fresh fir marks the beginning of Christmas at Chestnut Cottage. More on the trees later!

Saturday the 10th marked the annual trip to the greens markets in Asheville for Duncan and I.
